Happierness

Privacy and consent

Your days, your data.

How Happierness handles your data

Happierness is built for private reflection and pattern discovery. The personal details, the small notes, the harder days, all of it stays yours.

Sensitive fields like money, relationships, or mood notes are always optional. You are in control of your data, and you can delete it anytime.

Happierness is not a medical, mental health, financial, or relationship app. Insights are reflection tools, not advice.

Happierness is currently in public beta, so some features and wording may change as we improve the app.

What we collect

We try to keep this list short and plain. Happierness may store:

  • Account email and login information
  • Optional display name, if you choose to add one
  • Your 18+ confirmation and the time it was given
  • Optional age range (you can skip it)
  • Daily check-ins
  • Structured check-in fields such as mood, stress, energy, sleep, screen time, screen-time breakdown, routines, and other check-in answers
  • Selected focus areas (life areas and curiosity areas)
  • Written reflections and notes
  • Per-field notes
  • Life Context, if you choose to add it
  • Insight feedback notes
  • Insight reports (structured reason and optional note) when you report an insight
  • Saved insights and Small things to try (including optional outcome notes if you record one)
  • Notification settings and push subscription data
  • Operational email delivery records, such as email send state and send logs, used to deliver transactional and reminder emails reliably
  • Basic technical and security metadata needed to keep the app working
Insight reports and saved tests

You can report an insight that feels wrong, unsafe, or inappropriate. We use these reports to hide that insight for you and improve future insights. If you add an optional note, it is treated as private user-generated content and is not used to train AI unless you have deeper insights turned on.

You can save small things to try and optionally record whether they helped. These responses are used to adapt future suggestions. Optional outcome notes are also private and follow the same deeper-insights consent rules.

Reports and saved tests are stored under your account and are removed when you delete your account.

AI and deeper insights

Happierness can work in two ways.

Basic insights use only your structured check-in data: scores, sliders, selected options, check-in patterns, and selected focus areas. Your written notes, per-field notes, Life Context, and insight feedback notes are not sent to AI.

Deeper insights may use your written daily notes, per-field notes, Life Context, and insight feedback notes — but only when you turn on deeper-insights consent. When this consent is off, those written notes are not sent to AI.

AI calls run server-side through Lovable AI Gateway. Lovable Support has confirmed that the underlying LLM providers have zero retention for request and response content. Lovable AI request detail capture is currently off for this project, so AI request bodies are not captured going forward.

Cloud AI metadata such as model, status, tokens, latency, run ID, and cost may still be retained for operations and billing.

App-side logs avoid raw notes, reflections, Life Context, feedback notes, and generated insight bodies.

Services we rely on

Happierness uses a small number of services to run, such as:

  • Supabase, for database, authentication, and backend services
  • Lovable, for app hosting, cloud, and AI gateway
  • Google or another login provider, if you use it to sign in
  • An email provider, if used for transactional emails
  • Browser and push notification infrastructure, if you enable notifications
How long we keep things
  • Account data is kept while your account exists.
  • Account deletion removes user-linked app data.
  • Suppressed email entries (bounces and complaints) may be retained to protect future delivery.
  • AI request bodies are not captured going forward, because request detail capture is off.
  • Any previously captured Lovable request details, if any exist, expire under Lovable's retention window.
Your rights
  • Access the data Happierness holds about you
  • Correct information that's wrong
  • Delete your account and user-linked data
  • Withdraw optional consents, such as deeper insights, at any time
  • Contact support or our privacy contact through the support page
How written notes affect insights

You can turn deeper insights off anytime in Settings. After that, future AI insights will stop using your written notes. Existing generated insights may still reflect notes used while the setting was on until those insights are refreshed or deleted.

Your notes are used only to generate your insights. They are not shown to other users, not used for marketing, and not logged in diagnostics. Happierness will not quote your private notes back to you unless we clearly ask for separate permission to do that.

Your age range is optional. Happierness uses it only to make insights less one-size-fits-all, never to stereotype or explain things "because of your age". Exact age and date of birth are never collected.

Happierness is built for adults. During setup we ask you to confirm you are 18 or older. We store only that confirmation, not your date of birth.

Happierness is currently in public beta. Treat shared data with care.
